Welcome to AmyBananas.com! This site is devoted to my work as a professional artist.  My pet portraits are typically done in pastels on velour. This makes their fur seem "soft", almost touchable! I also do oil paintings from  photographs.

You could describe my style as simplistic or impressionism. My work is not a direct reproduction of your photographs. I paint the "feelings" I get from your pictures, which I believe enhances their appeal as an art form.  My hope is to enhance and give life to your memories, not simply copy them.

You might wonder why my gallery is called AmyBananas. I have a wonderful, little dog named Amy (pictured above) who is silly and goofy and the apple of my eye. She is my constant muse, companion and best friend (next to my husband). Amy's name began as Amy Belinda and as her personality developed from puppy into adult, it became obvious she was a natural goofball and so I christened her Amy Bananas. She loves to roll head over paws and be upside down.  It is her spirit and exuberance for life that inspired this name.
